Back at the keyboard

It's been a long time old friend. I haven't written for fun in many years, particularly about non-personal matters. Writers block is a bitch. It can last hours, days, weeks, or in my case; years. I wish I would have spent some time gathering my writings into one location since the beginning of my love for putting thoughts on paper, which began sometime around 3rd grade. I took some creative writing classes in middle and high school, but I've never really been one to lack a creative mind.

Unfortunately I did not keep most of my writings, so I'm starting over. I do plan to attempt to gather my old stuff when possible, and will label any posts as such if they are located.

About me:

I'm 36 years old, and live in the Midwest. I am a mother of 4 kids, and a mother figure to many more "kids" that I have psuedo adopted. I have a job in the tech world, and run my own company doing mainly small business promotion, and social media management (but due to real jobs and kids I've had to almost totally slow this down to nothing). I have written for blogs and websites in the past, but never anything consistently. I have complicated views and beliefs, and a sometimes crass sense of humor. I've been involved in many different issues I feel passionate about, and was a political activist for several years. I'm too busy with adulting to be too involved these days, but I still have a decent handle on what's happening in the world. My plan for this blog is to have an outlet for my writing that doesn't mix with my personal life a whole lot, so posts and articles here are likely to be quite random. So welcome, and happy reading, and feel free to contact me with questions or comments!

  1. I never... and I mean NEVER check my Google+ feed. For some reason today I did and boom! There you were. At the top. Front and Center. I'm glad you're back, I've hesitated on the writing thing too, but need to get back into it. Who knows, maybe now is the time. I've always known that you have a lot to say, just sometimes have issues getting it out there. Open up. Let it flow. The world needs to know. I'm going to go ahead and post this as Anonymous, just incase I don't get back into writing. That way I haven't made a public promise to myself - besides, who doesn't need a little bit of mystery in their life? Write on. Rockstar. Write on.
