It's a Sign of the Times

My brain typically auto-rejects anything that gets super popular in an abnormal amount of time. I went 9 years refusing to watch or read Twilight because of the I heart Edward stickers I kept seeing everywhere and I didn't know who he was so every time I'd get pissed and think WHO THE FU$K IS FU$KING EDWARD.

Now I've read them all, own them all, and love them but it took me a long time - when the public stopped talking about it all the time probably.
My brain recently did this with Harry Styles. I didn't know who he was, nor had I heard anything of his, but I wrinkled my nose at the thought of him because my brain said "he went from no one to the biggest all of a sudden and that's not normal".

Then I saw the new Melissa McCarthy show and this Sign of the Times song plays repeatedly throughout and I fell in love instantly. The lyrics, the beat, and the wavering of the varied MHz in the right ranges, not the ones that make you anxious. I've been blasting it on repeat for weeks, much to the chagrin of my husband, who liked it until about 2 days ago when it just became too much I think, because he turned it off in the middle of the song IN MY TRUCK and I almost smacked his hand.

So I just now thought to go watch the video and HOLY SHIT this kid is seriously good-looking. When he looks directly into the camera something different happens. Typically eye contact makes me anxious as fuuuuuuuck, even with myself in mirrors, or inanimate objects, wax figures, images, anything. But when he looks at the camera I can't look away - and I'm not sure what's happening internally but I've decided to change my hall pass (Sorry Chris Pratt I only get two, so it's now Paul Rudd and this guy.)

Update - I found this - not only did Simon save him, but also I had no idea that he was in one direction.
